Maria Ignacia Walker

 

來自智利的當(dāng)代首飾藝術(shù)家。

曾就讀于Alchimia當(dāng)代首飾學(xué)院，

之后在意大利佛羅倫薩旅居多年。

她用身體作為媒介來發(fā)展自己的首飾藝術(shù)，

并將護身符、裝置和表演融入其中，

使其形式更加豐富，情感更加飽滿。

 

María Ignacia Walker obtained her first degree in Art Direction at Universidad del Desarrollo, Chile, 2007. In October 2015 she graduated from an MFA in Alchimia Contemporary Jewellery School, Florence. She is based in Florence, Italy where she works as independent artist.

In 2018 she was welcomed into Khio, Oslo National Academy of Art in Oslo, Norway for a special artist in residency programme.

While working on her personal projects Maria likes to share her knowledge by giving lectures and workshops. She has taught in Florence, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Santiago de Chile.

Her artistic realization finds its shape in Wearable Art. She is obsessed with the human body, its changes over time, bodily losses and renewal. Her work is the result of a dialogue with her body, created from the interaction with objects, amulets, installations and performances.

100 Ring – Portraits

來自Maria的藝術(shù)調(diào)研：

藝術(shù)家在過去十年間四處游歷，

以此獲得源源不斷的靈感。

她不斷地觀察和發(fā)現(xiàn)周圍的世界，

許多細節(jié)在記憶中不斷延伸。

隨后創(chuàng)作出了100個肖像戒指，

那是刻在她記憶深處的100個不同的人的面龐。

每一個戒指都是先由藝術(shù)家親手用蠟雕刻

再用銀和銅的合金鑄造而成，

以此來獲得令人意想不到的氧化效果。

藝術(shù)家將他們做成戒指，

以此來凝結(jié)記憶，

使之成為永恒。

 

100 Ring – Portraits

An experimental research by Maria Ignacia Walker：

“ The constant movement, without pauses or detentions is what has driven me these last ten years. I live spinning around the world to observe, and it is in the details where I have been able to discover hundreds of faces and gestures of different individuals that are engraved in my memory.

Breeds, shapes, colors, angles and features are the particularities that have inspired me to create a contemporary jewellery installation composed of ‘100 rings-portraits’.

With this work I intend to immortalize and freeze in my memory, factions and faces of different people who have been intertwining and mixing in my photographic memory. Facial features of various people who have cast, have created 100 new faces.

I want to keep these gestures forever and never lose them, that's why I chose to work with wax, a material that allows me to intuitively recreate these portraits, then melt them and create a final piece in metal that will remain forever. The final result of the work is in the Shibuichi alloy, a fusion of copper and silver that has an infinite range of random and almost uncontrollable colors. ”

埃瓦國際視覺藝術(shù)學(xué)院（Academy of International Visual Arts）成立于2005年，是一家獨立的藝術(shù)和設(shè)計機構(gòu)，位于中國上海的中心地帶。 在過去的十幾年里逐漸發(fā)展成為一個創(chuàng)意和文化中心，擁有專業(yè)的藝術(shù)工作室、教室、展廳以及完備的首飾工作室。AIVA也是專業(yè)的國際藝術(shù)教育培訓(xùn)機構(gòu)，在藝術(shù)、設(shè)計、傳媒、首飾、服裝以及數(shù)字媒體等多個專業(yè)與國際先進的本碩藝術(shù)教育課程接軌。

藝術(shù)家駐地期間將獲得獨立的創(chuàng)作空間或工作臺，可以免費使用我們的器械、場地以及其他相關(guān)資源包括：教室、展廳、Riso印刷機、桌面裁紙機、復(fù)印機、手工書籍裝幀材料、屏幕和投影儀、攝影器材、透寫臺、首飾工作臺、噴砂機、吊機、焊臺、鉆床、各式拋光機和清洗機、熔金機、琺瑯爐、液壓機、壓片機、切片機等等。

AIVA可以為藝術(shù)家提供各種形式的個人展覽以作品及推廣的機會，包括與上海當(dāng)?shù)氐拿佬g(shù)館進行合作；到中國各個城市的大學(xué)里進行學(xué)術(shù)講座；在AIVA開設(shè)工坊、展覽或沙龍活動；進行作品寄售等等。還可以與AIVA教學(xué)團隊交流經(jīng)驗，參與全日制預(yù)科學(xué)生的學(xué)習(xí)指導(dǎo)。

 

The artist will have independent space and workbench during the AiR, free access to basic facilities and other related resources, including: classrooms, gallery space, Riso printing machine, bookbinding materials, photographic equipment, casting machine, sand blasting machine, soldering benches, drilling machine, various polishing machines, melting machine, kiln, hydraulic press, rolling mill, bench cutter etc. 

AIVA can provide artist with various opportunities of exhibitions and promotion activities, including cooperation with local galleries and museums in Shanghai; having lectures in colleges and universities; workshops, exhibitions and salons at AIVA; consignment of the work; exchanging experiences with teachers in AIVA and participating in tutorials with foundation and Pre-MA students.
