It seems to me that what makes a piece of jewelry distinct is its signal.
In One Family in the Cultural Revolution, I used jewelry to record my family's unique experience in the catastrophe of The Times——
My Father was Always the Dominance of the Family’s Destiny. To Me, My Siblings and My Mom, He Brought Us Only Disasters This piece is about my grandmother's father, and it wa also my grandmother's description of her father. He became the major general in the KMT when young. Afterward, he resigned from all the poses in the KMT for his opposition to the Civil War. In contrast, he was still prisoned for 24 years. I combine the image of orange that he used to plant in prison and the epaulets for the significant general together by sand casting the oranges and filing the military stars. To commemorate his dignity and faith as a military, as well as a Chinese.
What made my mom regrated for whole life was all the photos taken by the Red Guards. Lots of pictures of significant points in youth were lost. The brooch is made of silver to restore the photo and copper to stimulate the armband of the Red Guards. The poem on the back was written by her father to encourage her to protect our country and always be tough.
“Our only dream was to be treated like everyone else. We were never trusted by people for the files.” the 8 violin parts entangled with broken file bags indicate that the 8 children’s fate being shackled by their father.
Jewelry is the friend of the body and could extend into the space. It’s a witness, a recorder, as well as a narrator of the stories destined to be forgotten.
